Hi Merryweather, Thanks for posting your question to the Answers Forum. You should be getting the "Do you want to run or save this file? I would first suggest noting the name of the file before you download it, then search for the file name to find where the files are being saved. Sometimes media files will give the progress and try to play in the browser.

Are these sound or video file by any chance? I also suggest trying the download by right clicking on the file link and clicking "Save target as", then windows cannot find downloaded file the save location as a test. You might upgrade to Internet Explorer 8 and see if it helps. Please let us know how this works out. Did this solve your problem? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Site Feedback.

Tell us about your experience with our site. Merryweather1 Created on April 14, I usually download them on my desktop before running them, windows cannot find downloaded file. The progression window shows up as usual but it disappears very quickly althought I don't select that option. Thinking that the download is over, I check my desktop but the file windows cannot find downloaded file nowhere to be seen. I then check the 'My Dowloads' folder and even have a quick look at the 'Temporary Files' one but no trace of it!

And yet there's no message saying that the download has failed. This happens with different files from different websites. I'm thinking it must be missing some basic new Vista modification but I have no idea what it might be. Thxs a lot for your help. This thread is locked.
