Can anyone explain why this increases download speed? I switched to openDNS on my mbps fiber connection and went from 5 hours to 65 minutes. It definitely works. I just don't understand why it works.

Mine test has been running for some minutes, then I will switch to the fastest DNS. The Google one is faster than 'automatic' for me, but not that much. If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.

That's still a painfully long time when I have a 74 mb connection but it's peak hours here so at least I can be relatively confident that leaving it downloading overnight will work I hope! Jun 25, · ok got it flying now KB/s changed the DNS to the google ones but my MTU was already set to when i changed some months back, had to pause the download acouple of times to get it working better, oh and i restarted my PS4 just to see if that made any difference, with the google dns as the network settings.
